Week 1

Six teachers have expressed an interesting in working with me on this project. This group will help me to better understand the applications of technology across a variety of subject areas as those six teachers teach Biology, Science, PE, ELA, Geography, Careers, Math, and Art. Due to such a large diverse group, the format of the meetings will be blended between individual or small group collaboration, and working together as a large group to share ideas, or discuss common challenges.

I have sent each of the participants this survey. This survey will help me design activities and focus content to meet the individual needs of the group members. It will also give me a baseline to understand the participants current technology uses, in order for me to effectively target ways to advance their technology integration.

The first week also allowed me to do the house keeping things related to the practicum such as creating and publishing a time log , and posting and sharing my first blog post. Next week April, 16 and 17th I will be attending the Awakening Possibilities conference in Winnipeg that focusses on integration of educational technology . I am hoping to bring home some ideas from this conference that support my goals in this practicum.
